How was Guatemala, part 6: Field of Dreams

How was Guatemala, part 6: Field of Dreams

In 2014 after operating a day care for 7 years for the children of the working poor who live in her neighborhood, Pastor Erika expanded her outreach ministry to include a school for K5-8th graders. Mission teams built a 4 room building in front of the church. That first year she struggled to make ends meet as the families could not afford to pay tuition but the denomination which leased them the church/school space demanded fees for its use. Erika persisted, praying and spending her own resources as she acted on God’s call to her to empower these children to escape poverty through education. In 2015, God sent us to partner with her ministry. These past 2 years, I’ve had the opportunity to see tremendous growth in the children and witness the importance of the church in the lives of the families it serves. Now it appears God is leading us to develop our own property. Could this field of beans be our field of dreams?
