Fiesta de Pickleball

Click here to sign up for one or more events, all of which include the Fiesta meal, or to reserve a meal if not playing pickleball

All events will take place at the Gatewood racquet club except for the over 60, intermediate pickleball bracket. All brackets in this age group will take place on Saturday beginning at 8am at a location TBD.
All proceeds will support Matthew 2540's mission in Guatemala to Empower Children to Escape Poverty through Education. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about our school in Guatemala and participate in bake and handicraft sales along with a silent auction. Sponsors are the lifeblood of this ministry, changing lives one child at a time!

Youth pickleball clinic will begin at 4pm on Friday, August 23
Adult pickleball beginner clinic will begin at 6pm on Friday, August 23
Our delicious Hispanic dinner will be served on Friday evening, August 23, beginning at 5pm
Mixed doubles competition will begin at 6pm on Friday, August 23
Ladies doubles will begin on Saturday morning, August 24 at 8am
Men's doubles will begin on Saturday morning, August 24 around 10am

Meal and Pickleball registration deadline: Monday, Aug. 19
Shirt reservation deadline Aug. 2.
In the event of rain on Friday, the meal will be moved to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Pickleball events may be postponed to Saturday evening and/or Sunday evening.

The events below allow you to participate in raising funds to keep our Guatemalan educational ministry free for as many children as possible. The slide show below is of items donated to help us raise funds for building the school. 100% of your purchase goes toward this goal.

Chili:  This event will return in the winter of 2025. We will have quarts of spicy beef and bean chili, mild beef, bean and corn chili as well as a white chicken chili. Each quart is $25. The pickup location is in the underpass on the Creswell Ave side of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenwood, SC.

Pecans: We will have cases of dark, milk, caramel clusters, cinnamon and plain pecans for sale in the fall. Check back then. You can though order a full case of any variety (24 bags per type) and the shipping will be free.

Soup Sundays:  Quarts of homemade soup are available in both the Greenwood, SC and Hinton, WV areas on select dates during fall and winter. The next Greenwood sale date will be in October of 2024. Hinton United Methodist Church is the pick-up site for that area.  Please call Mark @ 304-860-7713 to reserve your soup.

 

 

Music for Mission:  This musical evening will return to  Greenwood, SC on Friday evening, February 28, 2025 beginning at 7pm. Talented performers from the area will display their skills on keyboard, piano, guitar and voice. Attendees will also be treated to a short presentation on the ministry in Guatemala and enjoy a variety of desserts and beverages.
